Bank statement guide

How to download a Nedbank bank statement

In the Money app, tap More, then Statements and documents, open Statements, choose the account and the month, and tap the download arrow. Statements from the app and Online Banking carry an e-confirm stamp, and the latest three months are free.

We are an independent South African site and are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, Nedbank. Menus in banking apps change; if a step below no longer matches what you see, the bank's own help pages listed under Sources have the final word.

Nedbank has moved statements firmly onto digital channels. Since 1 August 2024, viewing and downloading bank statements is one of the services Nedbank took out of its branches, so the Money app, Online Banking and the self-service machines are now the intended routes. Branch staff can still help you use them.

The useful part is that a statement downloaded digitally carries Nedbank's e-confirm stamp, which the bank says can be used for any official purpose. Where you start paying is when you go back further than three months, or use an ATM, a branch or the Contact Centre.

Download a statement on the Nedbank Money app

  1. Log in to the Money app with your Nedbank ID, app PIN, fingerprint or Face ID.
  2. Tap More, then Statements and documents.
  3. Tap the arrow next to Statements.
  4. Confirm the account.
  5. Tap the month you need.
  6. Tap the download arrow at the top of the screen. You can also share the statement from here.

If you use widgets on the app's home screen, Statements under My Widgets takes you straight to the list.

Email or share a statement from the app

Sending a statement works slightly differently on Android and iPhone. Nedbank documents this on its overdraft pages, but the route to the statement is the same one shown above.

  1. Follow the app steps above as far as opening the month.
  2. On Android, tap the three dots in the corner and choose Send file.
  3. On an iPhone, tap the share icon and send the statement by email.
  4. Enter the recipient's address and send it.

Have your statements emailed every month

  1. In the Money app, choose the account and tap Features.
  2. Choose Statement delivery preference.
  3. Select Email, Post or Do not send.
  4. Save your choice.

Nedbank publishes these steps for the Money app only.

Download a statement on Nedbank Online Banking

Nedbank's internet banking is now simply called Online Banking. The older name, Netbank, still turns up in searches.

  1. Log in to Nedbank Online Banking.
  2. Click Statements and documents, then Statements.
  3. Choose the account, using the arrow under Select an account.
  4. Choose the year if you need an older statement.
  5. Click Download next to the statement you want. To print it, click Print.

Online Banking can also email the statement for you: after clicking Download, follow the prompts.

Print a statement at a Nedbank ATM

  1. Insert your card at a Nedbank ATM and enter your PIN.
  2. Choose More options, then Print statements.
  3. Select Current statement (past 30 days) or Three-month statement.
  4. Choose the account and select Proceed.

On MiGoals accounts an ATM statement costs R50 under the 2026 pricing guide, so the app is much cheaper if you can use it.

Print a stamped statement at a self-service kiosk

Nedbank has about 460 self-service kiosks around the country that print transaction history and bank-stamped documents. You log in with your Nedbank ID, the same one you use for the app, and unlike the ATM you can choose a longer period.

  1. Log in at the kiosk with your Nedbank ID.
  2. Go to Overview and select the account.
  3. Open the Features tab and choose to print a statement.
  4. Pick 30 days, 3 months or a longer period.

We could not find kiosk fees in Nedbank's 2026 pricing guide, so check the screen before you print.

At a branch or through the Contact Centre

Branches no longer handle statement downloads as a standard service, but the 2026 pricing guide still prices statements through Nedbank-assisted channels, meaning branches and the Contact Centre, at R100 a statement on MiGoals accounts. If none of the digital routes work for you:

  1. Call the Contact Centre on 0800 555 111, which is toll-free and open 24 hours, or visit a branch.
  2. Say which account and months you need, and whether the statement must be stamped.
  3. Ask what it will cost before you confirm.

Do Nedbank statements count as stamped?

Yes, if they come through the right channel. Nedbank says statements from Online Banking and the app carry an e-confirm stamp that can be used for any official purpose, and its kiosks print bank-stamped documents. That covers the usual requests from embassies, home loan applications and letting agents, though it does no harm to mention up front that the stamp is electronic.

If what they really want is proof that the account is yours, send a proof of account letter instead. In the Money app, open the account, tap Features and choose Share account information. On Online Banking, go to Overview, choose the account, then Features, Account details and Share proof of account via email. It carries a Nedbank e-confirmation stamp as well.

How far back you can go, and what it costs

Nedbank does not publish a maximum history for the app or Online Banking. What it does say is that charges apply if you use certain channels or download statements older than three months. Under the 2026 Everyday Banking pricing guide (1 January to 31 December 2026), for MiGoals and MiGoals Plus:

  • Latest three months on the app or Online Banking: free.
  • Older than three months, digitally: R12 each.
  • ATM statement: R50.
  • Branch or Contact Centre: R100 per statement.

MiGoals Premium lists the latest and previous months' digital statements as free. Accounts Nedbank no longer sells have their own 2026 pricing guide, with different branch fees. Nedbank's help centre still quotes R11 for an older statement; the 2026 pricing guide says R12.

Mini statements on *120*001#, and why WhatsApp will not help

Nedbank's cellphone banking on *120*001# gives you mini-statements on any phone. Nedbank does not charge for it, but your network charges airtime, which Nedbank puts at 20c for every 20 seconds. A mini statement will not satisfy anyone who asked for a bank statement.

Nedbank's WhatsApp channel cannot send you a statement either. Nedbank says it is used only to send you information.

Password-protected statements

Nedbank does not publish a password for personal statement PDFs. If a statement arrives locked, check the email it came with for instructions, or ask Nedbank's digital help team at digitalhelp@nedbank.co.za or on 0800 555 111.

To upload the statement to our converter or to a lender's portal, open it and save an unlocked copy first.

Common problems

  • You cannot log in: the statement FAQs Nedbank publishes deal mainly with Nedbank ID registration, Approve-it and forgotten passwords. Digital help is on 0800 555 111 or digitalhelp@nedbank.co.za.
  • You were charged for a statement: it was probably older than three months, or requested at an ATM, a branch or through the Contact Centre.
  • The branch sent you to the app: since August 2024 statement downloads are a digital service. Ask the staff to help you do it on your phone or at a kiosk.
  • You need more than three months from a machine: the ATM only offers 30 days or three months. Use a kiosk, the app or Online Banking for longer periods.
  • You cannot find the option: Enbi, the chatbot in the Money app and Online Banking, can help you get to your bank statement at any time of day.

Self-employed and asked for proof of income?

Lenders and letting agents usually ask a salaried applicant for payslips and a self-employed one for bank statements, often the last three months and often stamped. Ask exactly which months and which format they want before you request anything. If they also want a summary of what you earn, our proof of income letter generator lays your figures out in a format they can read quickly, alongside the statements.
