How to download your bank statement
Sooner or later someone asks for three months of bank statements: a letting agent, a bond originator, a visa office or your accountant. Every bank lets you get them yourself, but each one hides the option in a different place, and the rules on stamped statements and how far back you can go are not the same.
Pick your bank below. Each guide covers the app, internet banking, emailed statements and the branch, and is checked against that bank's own help pages.
- Capitec
How to download a Capitec bank statement
On the Capitec app, open the account, tap the three dots, choose Statement, pick your dates and tap Share PDF Statement. The PDF carries an electronic bank stamp, and 1 to 3 months costs nothing on the app.
- FNB
How to download an FNB bank statement
On FNB Online Banking, open the account, go to Statement History, click the download icon and choose Verified for a bank-stamped PDF. FNB says the verified version costs nothing extra, and you can email it straight to whoever asked for it.
- Standard Bank

In the Standard Bank app, select the account, scroll down to Your documents, tap View & Save, and choose the 6-Month statement or one of your previous monthly statements. Download it, or send it as an email.

In the Absa Banking App, select the account, open the Statements tab, choose the statement and date range, and tap Download. The stamped version is a separate option on the same tab, and on a Transact account it costs R10.00.
- Nedbank
How to download a Nedbank bank statement
In the Money app, tap More, then Statements and documents, open Statements, choose the account and the month, and tap the download arrow. Statements from the app and Online Banking carry an e-confirm stamp, and the latest three months are free.
- African Bank

Got the PDF and need a spreadsheet?
Our bank statement converter turns a PDF statement into CSV, Excel, or an import file for Sage or Xero. You need a free account to convert PDFs, and the first 5 pages each month are free.
